VEGA (Vertical Graphene for Aluminium-ion batteries) project will provide a step towards understanding the fundamental principles and applications of Aluminum ion batteries (AIBs) by designing advanced graphene-based cathode materials, establishing a fast and easy plasma-enabled technology for graphene production, and understanding the basics of metal-ion intercalation using operando techniques.
OBJECTIVES
•Alternatives to LIBs and identifying suitable multivalent metals for battery systems.
•Design and optimization strategies of graphene as cathode material for Al3+ batteries
•Develop a green approach for large-scale synthesis of vertical graphene
•Switching the morphology of graphene from horizontal to vertical and controlled surface engineering of vertical graphene
