The main research areas are physics, chemistry, biotechnology, information technologies, molecular biology, reactor physics, energy and environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research activities at JSI during VEGA will mostly take place at the department of Gaseous Electronics (F6), led by Prof Dr Uro\u0161 Cvelbar and researchers who have vast experience in plasma-enabled techniques for the synthesis and processing of nanostructures, preparation of materials or coatings, design of plasma systems and diagnostics, and use of plasma for designing advanced thin films for energy storage applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PI: Prof. Uro\u0161 Cvelbar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Funding agency: <\/strong>Ministrstvo za izobra\u017eevanje, znanost in \u0161port (MIZS)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Role in the project: <\/strong>JSI will coordinate VEGA and manage the project timely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plasma synthesis and processing of Vertical graphene (VG)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Designing VG-based hybrid cathodes for AIBs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-ocean-gradient-background has-background\"><strong>Partner 1: The Chalmers University of Technology (CUT)<\/strong> (Swedish: Chalmers tekniska h\u00f6gskola) is a Swedish university located in Gothenburg that conducts research and education in technology and natural sciences at a high international level. The EU&#8217;s biggest research initiative \u2013 the Graphene Flagship \u2013 is coordinated by CUT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Major research works during ATLAS at CUT will be conducted at the Department of Industrial and Materials Science, and the activities will be led by Dr Jinhua Sun. The team from CUT has more than 10 years of research experience in experience in synthesis of 2D material-based composites, surface chemical functionalization, and advanced characterization techniques, as well as fabrication, characterization and optimization of different types of energy storage devices (e.g., LIBs, sodium ion batteries, Li-S batteries, solid state batteries, and supercapacitors).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PI: Dr Jinhua Sun<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Funding agency: <\/strong>Swedish Research Council<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Role in project: <\/strong>Electrochemical evaluation of hybrid VGN-electrodes for AIBs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Understanding the energy storage mechanism of VGN Operando electrochemical characterization of VGN for AIBs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-ocean-gradient-background has-background\"><strong>Partner 2: <\/strong><strong>University<\/strong><strong> of Orleans (UO)\/ Groupe de Recherches sur l&#8217;Energ\u00e9tique des Milieux Ionis\u00e9s (GREMI). <\/strong>UO belongs to one of the oldest universities, founded 1306. It is multidisciplinary university, with about 20000 students enrolled in currently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research activities in the GREMI include plasma polymer deposition, plasma applications in the field of microelectronics (etching, patterning), plasma-surface interactions (from diagnostics to deposition and functionalization of nanoalloys, ultrathin polymer films, nanoparticles or nanostructures), PECVD growth of, graphene and 2D structures.
